Rather than hiring or placing nannies directly, we help ensure that both nannies and families get the personal guidance they need can feel confident as they connect with one another.

Meet the Owner
I’m Kyndal Lothery, the founder of Confident Nanny Search, an independent consulting service for families and nannies based in Austin, Texas. I help families feel confident navigating the nanny hiring process, and I empower nannies with the tools, support, and insight they need to grow strong, successful careers in childcare.
With over 11 years of experience working with children, much of my nanny journey began in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I started as a babysitter and mother’s helper. Since then, I’ve held roles including:
- daycare teacher
- after-school care provider
- professional nanny
- trained newborn care specialist
- postpartum doula
Supporting families has always felt like second nature to me — as the eldest grandchild in a big family, being the “helper” was simply who I was.
Why I Started Confident Nanny Search
As a longtime nanny, I saw a growing number of first-time parents trying to find nannies on their own — often overwhelmed, unsure where to start, and left to piece together advice from Facebook groups, friends, or outdated articles online.
At the same time, I saw nannies struggling to grow their careers, with very little guidance on how to write resumes, prepare for interviews, or move forward professionally in this unique field.
There’s no school for nannies — we often self-start and figure it out as we go. I wanted to change that.
I created Confident Nanny Search to be a one-stop resource offering clear, compassionate, and educational support for:
- Parents who want to hire a nanny confidently, without going it alone
- Nannies who want to elevate their careers, but aren’t sure how to get there
This isn’t an agency. I don’t place or employ nannies. Instead, I offer personalized consulting, giving you the tools, strategy, and confidence you need to move forward — whether you’re hiring, interviewing, or just trying to figure out where to begin.

In addition to consulting, I also work with parents overnight as a postpartum doula through my second business, Confident Mama & Baby Care. Whether it’s helping baby settle, giving exhausted parents a break, or offering calm support in the early weeks, I’m honored to be part of the postpartum journey too.
